"The View" alum Meghan McCain is sharing her view on an off-Broadway musical about her dad, John McCain.
The imaginative comedy, "Ghost of John McCain," was written by Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola, according to Broadway World and Entertainment Weekly.
"This is trash - nothing more than a gross cash grab by mediocre desperate people," McCain posted on X Tuesday while quoting a post by entertainment outlet Deadline.
"I hope it bombs," she wrote.
In January, Elmegreen told EW that the show was originally created by the late Grant Woods, the former Arizona senator's ex-congressional chief of staff and state attorney general.

The show apparently puts its own spin on the feud between McCain and former President Donald Trump before his 2018 death after a battle with glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer. McCain delivered a viral eulogy at her dad's funeral.
"Ghost of John McCain" opens Aug. 27 and runs through Election Day on Nov. 5, where President Biden is set to face off in a general election rematch against Trump. The show is set to take place at SoHo Playhouse.
These days, the political heir is focusing on her family and podcast fame. Meghan McCain shares two daughters, Liberty and Clover, with her husband, "The Federalist" founder Ben Domenech.
McCain joined the Daily Mail as an online columnist after years of on-air spats during her tenure as the sole conservative voice on "The View" in 2021.
"This was not an easy decision it took a lot of thought and counsel and prayer and talking to my family and close friends," McCain said at the time.
She was later replaced after a season-long series of auditions by former Trump White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin.
Now, McCain is the host of her own podcast, "Meghan McCain Has Entered The Chat," which features solo episodes as well as conversations with everyone from "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Erika Jayne to Republican Rep. Nancy Mace.
